The members of The Christian-Muslim Consultative Group (CMCG) join with the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), the National Council of Churches and Jews on First  to express deep concern about the distribution of the DVD "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West."  We contend that "Obsession", produced in 2006 by HonestReporting.com, presents a one-sided and bigoted view of Islam.  The members of The CMCG denounce the use of violence in the name of Christianity or Islam.  Furthermore, we take issue with the film's depiction of Islam as a religion that promotes the use of violence, and the film's propagandistic techniques that equate Islam with Nazism to engender fear of Islam in its viewers.  The CMCG has organized several events in Southern California in the past year and a half to critique this film and others like it.

To request that an event be held at your house of worship to explore and discuss media depictions of Islam and dialogue with Christian and Muslim experts on this topic, contact The Reverend Dr. Gwynne Guibord at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
